Comparing Encanto with Macondo

Encanto is like One Hundred Years of Solitude without the incest and killing. I think about their similarities very much and I want to list down what I've noticed.

Theme/Tropes/Motifs

• Colombia.
• Isolated town tying its prosperity to one family's lineage.
• A matriarch overseeing the family.
• A fortune teller prophesies the the demise of the family.
• A curious family member trying to decode the prophecy.
• Character that left/died/disappeared but never leaves
• Visions in Encanto are crystal-like, while Macondo is a city of mirrors.
• Madrigal family losing magic, Macondo people had insomnia. Both recovered after the prophet returns.
• One man two sisters drama.
• An animal master/breeder.
• A "Perfect girl".
• Rain.
• Yellow butterflies.
• Gold fish.
• Magical Realism in general.
